Home Care Instructions following Periodontal Therapy / Laser Treatment

1. Rinse with warm salt water for a day or two after treatment.

2. Take anti inflammatory medication (Advil, Aleve, Ibuprofen) if there is any discomfort.

3. Extra soft tooth brush: if there is sensitivity after treatment - use for a couple days, then go back to using the electric toothbrush/manual toothbrush when the sensitivity is gone.

4. Waterpik and/or flossing: Use gently and slowly the first couple days

5 This will NOT prevent healing, but some foods such as acidic, spicy or crunchy foods can potentially irritate the tissue after laser therapy.
